Introduction to HTML5 & CSS3 Instructional Website

This project was created for the "Web Development for Educators" course. I had enrolled in this class hoping to learn more about web development, especially in terms of instructor sites and particularly those that incorporated a course management system. However, it turned out that this particular class taught basic XHTML and CSS for creating websites; an area that I am already fluent in. Regardless, this class turned out to be well worth it. The instructor allowed me to create my own culminating project based on what I wanted to learn. I had already started researching HTML5 and CSS3 on my own and decided to base my project on creating a full-blown instructor website using the new HTML5 syntax and CSS3 style. This project is based on my learning HTML5 and CSS3 by creating an instructor website using HTML5 and CSS3 that teaches HTML5 and CSS3. Please read my culminating project plans before viewing the final project. This Website was created using Dreamweaver and incorporates the eFront learning management system. This project addresses standards 2(a) - design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.

Hissom School of Computer Technology

This project was created for the "Designing Online Courses" course using eFront's open-source community edition of their learning management system alone. eFront is a modern multilingual learning and training platform designed to help create online courses with opportunities for rich interaction. It comes with a distinctive icon-based user interface that is intuitive to use and offers a wide range of features from content creation, test builder, project management, extended statistics, internal messaging system, forum, chat, surveys and more. It is a SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 compliant and certified system. This particular system allows for multiple course cration. The course I created within this system is the same "Introduction to HTML5 & CSS3" mentioned above but takes the learning experience much further. This project addresses standards 2(a) - design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity, 2(b) - develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress, and 2(d) - provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.

Technology Integration and Educational Psychology Lesson Plan

This lesson plan was created for the "Computer Applications in Education" course as well and also pertains to areas of Website design. The purpose of this particular lesson is to demonstrate the integration of the technology into a curriculum and explores the potential benefits of the technology based upon principles of current educational psychology. This project addresses standards 2(a) - design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity, and 2(d) - provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.

Student Electronic Portfolios Master Guide

This project was created for the "Computer Applications in Education" course and serves as a template guide for student creation of ePortfolios. It details each of the individual pages, reasoning for the pages, and method of evaluation. Please click here to view the student sample I also created based on this template.

Assessment Strategies

This paper describes what I learned from visiting Intel's Assessment Library Website and identifies strategies that I would use with students. This paaper addresses standards 2(d) - provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.
