Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society.

Online Learning: A Technology and Assessment Group Project

This website was a collaborative project created for the "Computer Applications in Education" course. Our task was to lead the class discussions for an entire week by identifying a single topic and three or four questions that may be used to promote critical thinking on that topic. We then had to develop a system of organizing, facilitating, and evaluating those student discussions. Our group created a Google site that included a wiki in order for us to collaborate online. We chose online learning as the topic to center its discussions around. The four areas covered included frustrations with online learning, assessment in online learning, tools available to teachers in the online environment, and the future of mobile learning. Each member of our group took control of one discussion topic, developing the prompt and finding resources to share with the class via the class discussion forum within Blackboard. Together we created a Google spreadsheet for evaluating the discussion contibutions of our peers. This project addresses standards 3(a) - demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations, 3(b) - collaborate with students and peers using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation, 3(c) - communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students and peers using a variety of digital age media and formats, and 3(d) - model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, and evaluate and use information resources to support research and learning.

Feedback for Assessment Collaborative Group Project

This website was a collaborative project created for the "Teaching Online Courses" course. Our task was to create and moderate an online discussion, an asynchronous or synchronous activity, or a collaborative activity related to a specific course topic in order to help everyone in the class better undertand that particular topic. Our group's topic was "feedback for assessment." We chose to create an online asynchronous activity that enabled all students to contribute to a chart that would list types of feedback, when to use them, and their effective characteristics. To collect student contributions, we created a Google site that listed suggested readings and incorporated an online submission form connected to a spreadsheet. Once everyone contributed to the chart, we formatted it into a pdf document that could be saved for future reference or shared with others. All students in the class were emailed a copy.

Web 2.0 Application Overview

This paper addresses online learning management systems and describes eFront in particular; its purpose and general features, its potential for instruction and training, how it facilitates communication, research, information dissemination, and learning. Web-based examples that actually use the eFront application and links to tutorials are provided, as well as a description of any challenges or issues associated with its effective implementation. This project addresses standards 3(a) - demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations, and 3(d) - model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, and evaluate and use information resources to support research and learning.

Web 2.0 Applications Peer Review

For this paper I reviewed two Web 2.0 Application Overviews of my peers. This project addresses standards 3(a) - demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations, and 3(d) - model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, and evaluate and use information resources to support research and learning.

Personal Online Teaching Toolkit

This project was completed as the major assignment for the "Teaching Online Courses" course. The purpose of this project was to identify tools and compile resources, strategies, and ideas tailored to online teaching that supports my individual current or future online teaching goals. The Website that houses this project was created using Dreamweaver.

Zoho Review

This project was created for the "Technology and Learning" course. The purpose of this project was to choose a particular Web 2.0 tool and research it in it's entirety. My chosen tool was Zoho Show, which is only one free presentation application offered by Zoho.com. I created a Website for this project that showcases my analysis of Zoho Show, including a demonstration, tutorials, and how it can be implemented into the classroom. This Website also includes peer reviews of my project and was created using Dreamweaver. This project addresses standards 3(a) - demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations, 3(b) - collaborate with students and peers using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation, and 3(d) - model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, and evaluate and use information resources to support research and learning.

Microsoft Word Tutorial: How to Utilize the Title Page, Table of Contents, and Bibliography Features

This project was created for and assignment in the "Technology and Learning" course. This assignment focused on creating a tutorial that includes both visual and text and explains how to use a particular function using productivity software that others may not know how to do and would be a valuable skill to know. I chose to create a tutorial that explains how to use Microsoft Word's title page, table of contents, and bibliography features. This project addresses standard 3(a) - demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations.

Web Applications

This paper adresses three different Web 2.0 applications that I feel are very useful. Ideas of use are included, as well as examples I created myself. This project addresses standard 3(d) - model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, and evaluate and use information resources to support research and learning.
